Recently it has been announced that Jumbo-Visma promoted Tim van Dijk from his U23 team to WorldTour, filling the gap left by Dylan Groenevegen’s recent departure to the bike swap, states in mlb.com.
Young rider of 21 year old, Van Dijk, was scheduled to join WorldTour in 2023, but will now leave a year ahead of schedule and join his twin brother and fellow amateur Mick in the Jumbo-Visma formation.
The Dutchman celebrated his first professional victory at the end of the 2021 season when he successfully performed in the last Cro race in Zagreb and defeated eventual overall winner Stevie Williams (Bahrain victorious).
Jumbo Visma sports director Meryn Zeeman explained that there is no direct connection between the development team and the WorldTour team. Van Dijk’s rapid progress has given him the opportunity to participate in the WorldTour, but he will also compete with the development team from time to time.
The list of participants of the Jumbo-Visma World Tour 2022 includes 29 riders. Some of them strictly remain in the leading block of the race, while the others will once again try to shine on all tracks.
For now it’s quite difficult to predict the final outcome as well as the performance of Tim van Dijk, but all the previous indicators we have to analyze and predict says that the athlete has really good chances of leading and even winning.
