3 million unicyclist I'm not the only unicyclist who got punished for unicycling on the pavement while the law instructs to do so.
In New Zealand the case ended in court in favor for the one who wasn't breaking any law.
And a simular case in the US got legal-wise also a unique developing. He's now demanding $3 million in damages for the violation of his constitutional rights.
UPDATE: here's a video of an interview with Kyle on the matter. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
electric There are more and more self-balancing segway alike unicycles out there. Like the Ryno, the Honda U3-X, and the Tango. But I think I would like the one that looks the most like a unicycle: the new SBU. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
Ride for Gary There is a zillion charities people ask sponsoring for per unicycled mile. Here's one more. To me firemen are a special kind of people, who put their life in hands of another to safe the life of someone else. So yes, Gary deserves something in return. PC Amanda police on unicycle - Amanda GallacherLast month I asked Joe Hodges whatever happened with Amanda Gallacher.
Today the Daily Mail provided the answer:
she became a police officer (of course on unicycle)!
Cogratz! But geeez Amanda;
that's a complicated way to get a helmet and clothing sponsor ;) Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
tricks or skills Unicyclists have skills, magicians performs tricks. Do not confuse, or you may insult.
I found Peter Harvey amazing: you present a unicycle without pedals, put it in a box, and suddenly it has pedals, then take it from the box, and show the pedals are gone again... it's magic! Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
carbon seat base Untill up today I was one of the many unicyclists frustrated with bending and breaking seat base plates. Well, not anymore, as I now got one of those very thick carbon seat bases in no-shit quality. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   2 comments

King Charles Unicycle Troupe Here is a very nice documentairy on the King Charles troupe.
They were the 1st all-black act in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (...).
Not much unicycling in that movie, but still you can learn from those guys. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
fathers day 2 Jay Payleitner, author of 52 things kids needs from a dad made an interresting portion of his book available here. Now I'm even more convinced he's a great dad.
But same like kids can nurse you with the same amount of love the years that you're in need of dipers... I'm still hoping to see Jay riding that thing before those days! Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
fathers day Munipsycho has a signature-quote in RSU on the art of raising children: "My job is not to keep them from falling. It's to teach them to always get back up.
Alike wisdom can be found in this article, that tells about a book written by Jay Payleitner, who sais the unicycle represents one of his beliefs about fatherhood: a dad’s job is to open doors for his children. It’s up to the kids whether they want to pursue those opportunities.
Unfortunely none of his kids did pursue. So Jay, give it a serious try yourself, I bet you'll receive the support you've expected to give. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   1 comment
marriage proposal OK, the unicycle is just an excuse to link to this video.
But hey, it's another way to use a unicycle: be part in a marriage proposal. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments

another sharp person Another health theory of another person also called Sharp...
Multitalent athlete Emily Sharp: Unicycling is a good way to cross train for track, it works my legs and core because it's a complete exercise of your entire body. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
Smile for Google - Part 2 unicycle on Google Street ViewRemember my post where I anounced to be(come) the 1st unicyclist on Google StreetView...?

Well, here it is! (yay!)

It was soo funny: I spotted the car right after I looked up from my phone's screen, while using the Google maps to navigate to my destignation!

The stitching of the pictures however is a bit odd. Cause if you use the arrow (to browse), you'll see it was token from two sessions. So I suddenly dissapear, and come back. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   3 comments
proffersor Sharp is sharp This article of the BBC is spreading some nonsense on behalf of a Surrey based professor named Sharp. A quote like "Inevitably when you start to ride a unicycle you're going to fall off quite a lot". make me wonder why that is inevitable; I've teached people to unicycle more than once without falling, and twice even without a UPD!!! Further 72 is not too late to start.

However.., he comes up with a clever and very interresting improvement for an autonomous unicycle, using a spinal, like humans use their body mass to relocate their mass.
Yes, I'm looking forward to see that done in bidirectional servo's; pushing/pulling rubber-band 'muscles' around 360 degree hinge. Although real muscles work the opposit, it could simulate the human back. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
wrong tandem Here's another unicycle tandem that's almost good, but wont work the way it is now.
I've been riding another unicycle tandem myself together with a girl from Brussels with more succes than in de video. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
yucycle A tricycle unicycle is a somewhat contradictional description for yucycle. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
3 legs Tweet: I just saw a man on a unicycle walking a 3 legged dog!.
Well.. than you could have shouted a remark to them. Like "Hey,.. you're missing a ...leg!".
Although in fact you're the one missing something; it seems they turned out to do fine without. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
point of view This is a interresting point of view on learning how to ride a unicycle. Considering unicycling is -like walking and skating- a constant fall, it's totally truth. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
clown on unicycle Gizmodo reports that the Western Washington University did a study with the outcome: most cellphone users are too distracted to notice a clown on a unicycle. Written by Leo Vandewoestijne on   0 comments
